Change or transfer of principal place of business

Moving offices means moving your registrations too. We update your articles, BIR registration and permits so nothing is left behind.

Overview

When your company moves

Your principal office address is stated in your Articles of Incorporation, and your BIR registration, business permits and many government records are tied to it. Moving offices is therefore not only a practical matter: the corporate records and registrations have to move with you.

Changing the address in the articles is an amendment approved by the board and stockholders and filed with the SEC. If the move crosses city or municipal lines, your registrations transfer as well: the BIR registration moves to the Revenue District Office for the new address, the permit in the old city is closed, and a new one is secured where you now operate.

Frequently asked questions

Office move questions, answered

It depends on how the address is stated in your articles, which we review first. Either way, your BIR registration and business permit records still need updating.

Business permits are location-specific, so operating at a new address without the right permit carries risk. We plan the sequence so the gap is avoided.

That is a branch, not a change of principal office. It needs its own registrations and permits, which we can handle separately.
