Product registration in the Philippines
Understanding product registration
Bringing regulated products to market
Food, drugs, cosmetics, medical devices and household hazardous substances cannot be legally imported, distributed or sold in the Philippines without going through the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Products on the market without the right authorization face seizure, recalls and penalties that reach the importer and the retailer alike.
Authorization comes in two layers. The company itself must first hold a License to Operate (LTO) in the correct capacity, such as importer or distributor. Each product is then authorized individually, through a Certificate of Product Registration or the notification route that applies to its category. Cosmetics, for instance, follow the ASEAN notification system, which is faster than full registration but carries its own documentary standards.
Labeling is regulated with equal force, and shipments are checked against it. Reviewing labels before printing and shipping is far cheaper than relabeling a held container.
How we support you
Market access for regulated products
FDA registration (food, drugs, cosmetics, medical devices)
Certificates of Product Registration and notifications secured from the Philippine FDA, with dossiers prepared to pass evaluation the first time.
Import permit / clearance
Import permits and clearances obtained so registered products move through customs without holds or penalties.
Product labeling compliance
Labels reviewed and corrected against Philippine labeling rules before printing, avoiding costly recalls and rejected shipments.
How it works
From product file to market
1
Classification and pathway
We confirm your product's category and the exact authorization route and requirements that apply to it.
2
License to Operate
Your company's LTO application as importer or distributor is prepared, filed and followed through.
3
Product dossier and application
The technical file is assembled to FDA standards and the CPR or notification is filed and prosecuted.
4
Import readiness
Approvals aligned with customs requirements and permits so cleared products actually move.
5
Post-market compliance
Renewals, variations and labeling changes managed so products stay on the shelf.
