Economic Zone Registration in the Philippines

Registering with the right economic zone authority can bring tax and duty incentives for qualifying operations. We help you choose the zone and manage the application.

Overview

Registration with the economic zone authority that fits you

The Philippines has several economic zone authorities, each with its own sites, qualifying activities and incentive packages. The main ones are the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA), the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), and the Phividec Industrial Authority (PHIVIDEC). A registered enterprise may qualify for fiscal incentives, such as income tax and customs duty benefits, tied to its approved activity.

Choosing the wrong zone, or an activity that does not qualify, can leave you with the obligations of registration and none of the benefits. Each authority has its own application papers, evaluation and ongoing reporting requirements. We review your operations, advise which authority fits, prepare the application and project documents, and support you through evaluation and after registration, including your reporting to the authority.

Frequently asked questions

Economic zone questions we hear most

It depends on what you do and where. Manufacturing and export services often look at the Philippine Economic Zone Authority, tourism projects at the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority, and activity in the Cagayan area at the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority. We assess your plan and advise.

The Export Processing Zone Authority (EPZA) was the original body for export zones, and its functions passed to the Philippine Economic Zone Authority under the law that created it. For a new registration today, the practical choice is among the current authorities, and we confirm which fits.

No. Incentives depend on your activity, the authority’s evaluation and the law in force when you apply, and they come with conditions and reporting. We tell you what you can reasonably expect before you apply and help you meet the conditions afterward.
